Stag Power Rentals dispatches diesel generators from 20kW to 2,000kW out of our Dickinson, Texas yard to jobsites and facilities nationwide, supporting events, commercial properties, healthcare facilities, construction sites, and industrial operations that need planned or emergency power. Every generator in our fleet is diesel-only and load-bank tested before it ships, and our team has sized rentals for everything from single-building standby power to multi-megawatt industrial loads.
What a Point Comfort facility needs from a generator rental depends on the job — a plant turnaround has different sizing requirements than storm-season standby power. Ahead of Gulf Coast storm activity, our hurricane contingency power plan keeps priority units staged for fast dispatch. Call 1-844-STAG-PWR or request a quote to talk through your requirements.
Point Comfort is a small Calhoun County community whose economy is dominated by a single large industrial employer: the Formosa Plastics petrochemical and PVC manufacturing complex, one of the largest plastics production sites in the United States. A plant of that scale means planned outages, turnarounds, and contractor support work all create demand for temporary power, and the town’s exposure on Lavaca Bay puts it directly in the path of Gulf Coast hurricanes.

| Size | Typical Use | Details |
|---|---|---|
| 45kW | Small offices, retail, light commercial | Standby power for small facilities |
| 150kW | Mid-size commercial buildings | Backup for larger commercial loads |
| 300kW | Industrial support, larger facilities | Plant support and contractor power |
| 600kW | Heavy industrial, process equipment | Turnaround and process support |
| 1500kW | Large industrial/petrochemical loads | Full-facility or process-critical backup |
| Factor | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Connected Load | Determines the baseline kW a generator must sustain |
| Startup/Inrush Demand | Motors and process equipment can require several times running load at startup |
| Voltage | Generator output must match facility voltage requirements |
| Phase | Single-phase vs. three-phase changes generator selection |
| Site Access | Determines unit footprint, trailer size, and placement |
| Factor | Impact on Rental Cost |
|---|---|
| Generator Size (kW) | Larger units cost more per day but may reduce unit count needed |
| Rental Duration | Longer terms typically lower the effective daily rate |
| Delivery Distance | Point Comfort is within regional, same-day-drivable range of our Dickinson yard |
| Fuel Consumption | Larger units and heavier loads burn more diesel per hour |
| Additional Equipment | Cables, distribution panels, and transfer switches add to total cost |
Point Comfort sits roughly 110-120 miles from our Dickinson, Texas yard via SH-35 and US-87 through Bay City and Port Lavaca, putting it within our regional, same-day-drivable service area rather than requiring long-haul nationwide dispatch. That shorter route means faster deployment for both planned plant turnarounds and emergency storm response.
Point Comfort’s location on Lavaca Bay places it squarely in the path of Gulf Coast hurricanes and tropical storms. Our hurricane contingency power plan stages diesel generators ahead of forecasted storms so plant operators, contractors, and municipal facilities can secure backup power before landfall rather than after.
