Stag Power Rentals operates a diesel-only fleet of industrial and commercial generators from 20kW to 2,000kW, dispatched from our Dickinson, Texas yard and delivered nationwide. Every unit is load-bank tested before it leaves our yard, and our crews have powered events, commercial properties, healthcare facilities, construction sites, and industrial operations across both planned projects and emergency response.
What a Palacios business needs depends on the job — a working dock, a shrimp house, a construction site, or backup power staged ahead of the next storm off Matagorda Bay. Our hurricane contingency power plan gets equipment in place before landfall; call 1-844-STAG-PWR or request a quote to get started.
Palacios sits on Tres Palacios Bay on the Matagorda County Gulf Coast, home to roughly 400 shrimping vessels and long known as the “Shrimp Capital of Texas.” The town grew after the Southern Pacific Railroad arrived in 1901 and was incorporated in 1909; Camp Hulen, a former Texas National Guard and WWII training facility, still marks the area’s history. Fishing, tourism, and eco-tourism remain central to the local economy, and the same low-lying Gulf Coast location that supports the shrimp fleet also puts Palacios squarely in the path of Gulf hurricanes.

Palacios sits at roughly 7 feet of elevation directly on Tres Palacios Bay, a stretch of coast that has taken direct hits from Gulf hurricanes, including Hurricane Carla in 1961. Our hurricane contingency power plan stages diesel generators ahead of storm season so the shrimp fleet, dockside processors, and waterfront businesses aren’t caught without power.
| Generator Size | Typical Use in Palacios | Details |

| Factor | What We Check | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Connected load | Total equipment drawing power at once | Undersizing trips breakers or stalls motors |
| Startup demand | Inrush current from ice machines and refrigeration compressors | Some loads need 3-4x running wattage to start |
| Voltage & phase | Single-phase vs. three-phase requirements | Must match your equipment’s electrical service |
| Site access | Trailer size, dockside ground conditions, fuel tank placement | Waterfront sites often need specific rigging |
| Factor | Description |
|---|---|
| Generator size | Larger kW capacity costs more per day than smaller units |
| Rental duration | Longer terms typically lower the daily rate |
| Fuel | Diesel consumption scales with load and runtime |
| Delivery distance | Transport cost from our Dickinson yard to your site |
| Accessories | Cabling, transfer switches, and fuel tanks as needed |
