From our Dickinson, Texas yard, Stag Power Rentals dispatches diesel industrial and commercial generators ranging from 20kW to 2,000kW nationwide. Every unit in our fleet is load-bank tested before delivery, and our team has powered events, commercial properties, healthcare facilities, construction sites, and industrial operations through both scheduled outages and emergency response situations.
A fishing marina, a beachfront rental property, and a commercial dock in Matagorda don’t need the same generator — the right size depends entirely on the load. Ahead of storm season, review our hurricane contingency power plan, call 1-844-STAG-PWR, or request a quote to get your site sized correctly.
Matagorda sits at the mouth of the Colorado River on Matagorda Bay, with direct Gulf of Mexico access and roughly 23 miles of beach reachable by vehicle. Founded in 1827, it’s one of the oldest Anglo-American towns in Texas and served as the Matagorda County seat starting in 1837. Today the town’s economy runs on tourism and on commercial and recreational fishing.
That Gulf frontage cuts both ways. Hurricane Beryl made landfall near Matagorda in July 2024, and the town’s population dropped from 503 in 2010 to 313 in 2020 — a reminder of how storm exposure and rebuilding cycles shape a small coastal community’s power needs.

Looking for a 20kW-2000kW Generator Near You?
Whether you are planning for an outage or have an emergency situation, we’re ready 24/7 to ship a generator that will meet your power requirements.
Matagorda’s direct Gulf of Mexico frontage — the site of Hurricane Beryl’s July 2024 landfall — drives the same generator demand we see across our home Gulf Coast market. Stag Power Rentals ships the same diesel-only, load-bank-tested fleet — 20kW to 2,000kW — to Matagorda that we deploy nationwide, sized for everything from a single fishing operation to a full commercial property. 20kW-2000kW • Portable • Trailer • Skid • Diesel Generators
Stag Power Rentals supplies industrial and commercial diesel generators from 20kW to 2,000kW for marinas, fishing operations, beachfront rental properties, and storm-recovery power throughout Matagorda and the surrounding bay area. Generators are dispatched from our Dickinson, Texas yard and delivered nationwide, sized according to connected load, startup demand, voltage, phase, and site access.
Matagorda’s direct Gulf exposure creates year-round demand for temporary power, not just during named storms. For immediate assistance, call 1-844-STAG-PWR or request an industrial generator rental quote.
Matagorda sits directly on the Gulf, and storms here don’t just threaten power lines — Hurricane Beryl’s July 2024 landfall near Matagorda showed how quickly a direct hit can take a small coastal town offline. Our hurricane contingency power plan covers reserving a generator before a storm is bearing down rather than after.
| Size | Typical Use | Link |
|---|---|---|
| 45kW | Single marina building or small commercial property | 45kW Generators |
| 150kW | Multi-unit rental property or dock facility | 150kW Generators |
| 300kW | Larger commercial or fishing operation | 300kW Generators |
| 600kW | Municipal or multi-building storm recovery | 600kW Generators |
| 1500kW | Large-scale disaster recovery or utility-scale temporary power | 1500kW Generators |
| Consideration | Why It Matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Connected load | Total continuous demand across the property | Marina electrical systems, rental units |
| Startup (inrush) demand | Motors and compressors draw more at startup than while running | Bait well pumps, HVAC systems |
| Voltage and phase | Commercial docks and larger properties may need three-phase power | Ice machines, marina lift equipment |
| Site access | Beach and bayfront access can limit delivery routes and staging | Waterfront rental properties |
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Generator size (kW) | Larger units cost more per day but handle bigger loads efficiently |
| Rental duration | Storm-season rentals may run longer than planned commercial jobs |
| Fuel | Diesel is billed separately from the unit rental |
| Delivery distance and site access | Beach and bayfront routes can affect transport logistics |
| Cabling and hookup | Distance from generator pad to distribution panel or transfer switch |
