Stag Power Rentals runs diesel generators from 20kW to 2,000kW out of our Dickinson, Texas yard, a short haul up TX-146 to La Porte and its Houston Ship Channel industrial base. The fleet is diesel-only, load-bank tested before every dispatch, and sized for the same range of work we support nationwide — planned turnarounds and shutdowns, emergency standby, construction power, and temporary service for commercial and municipal sites along the bay.
What a La Porte facility needs from a rental generator depends heavily on the job: a petrochemical site coordinating a planned turnaround needs different power than a marina or municipal building preparing for storm season under our hurricane contingency power plan. Call 1-844-STAG-PWR or request a quote to talk through your load.
La Porte sits directly on the Houston Ship Channel and Galveston Bay, home to the Bayport Industrial District and major petrochemical operations including ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell facilities. That concentration of process industry, alongside the Port of Houston’s Bayport Terminal and the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site drawing visitors nearby, means power reliability isn’t optional — a turnaround delay or storm-driven outage carries real cost.

La Porte sits roughly 18-20 miles from our Dickinson dispatch yard via TX-146 north along Galveston Bay, well inside our home service radius. That short haul supports same-day and rapid-response delivery for both scheduled turnaround work and emergency call-outs, without the logistics of a long-distance shipment.
| Cost Factor | Consideration |
|---|---|
| Generator size | Larger kW units cost more but may reduce the number of units needed for a turnaround |
| Rental duration | Scheduled turnarounds price differently than emergency short-term rentals |
| Delivery and access | Plant access, permitting, and staging space affect logistics cost |
| Fuel | Diesel consumption scales with load and runtime |
| Power distribution | Cabling, transfer switches, and paralleling equipment add cost |
| Emergency deployment | Storm-season rush requests may carry different lead times |
La Porte’s bay-front, ship-channel location puts it squarely in the path of Gulf Coast storms, and industrial and municipal facilities alike plan standby power ahead of the season under our hurricane contingency power plan rather than after a storm is already tracking toward the coast.
