Stag Power Rentals dispatches diesel-only industrial generators, from 20kW portable units to 2,000kW turnkey installations, out of our Dickinson, Texas yard to job sites and facilities across the country. Every unit in our fleet is load-bank tested before it leaves the yard, and our crews have sized and delivered temporary power for events, commercial properties, healthcare facilities, construction sites, and industrial operations, covering both planned outages and emergency response when the grid goes down.
What a Bay City business actually needs — kilowatt output, voltage, phase, run time — depends entirely on the job in front of it. If storm season is the driver, our hurricane contingency power plan outlines how we pre-position equipment ahead of landfall; for anything else, call 1-844-STAG-PWR or request a quote and we’ll size it with you.
Bay City is the Matagorda County seat and the county’s commercial hub, built on a rice-farming economy that still shapes the surrounding countryside — drying, milling, and irrigation equipment all depend on power staying up through the growing season. The county is also home to the South Texas Project nuclear generating station, one of the region’s largest employers, and the contractors and support vendors working around that facility are used to strict scheduling and uptime expectations.
Bay City also sits close enough to the Gulf to feel every named storm that tracks up the Texas coast, so backup power is a standing consideration for the county’s hospitals, schools, and municipal buildings — not just a hurricane-season afterthought.

Whether you are planning for an outage or have an emergency situation, we’re ready 24/7 to ship a generator that will meet your power requirements.
Bay City’s rice-farming operations and its proximity to the South Texas Project both create demand for reliable backup and temporary power that doesn’t let up between storm seasons. | Size | Typical Use | Learn More |
|---|---|---|
| 45kW | Small offices, retail, light commercial | 45kW Generator |
| 150kW | Mid-size commercial buildings, construction sites | 150kW Generator |
| 300kW | Larger commercial and light industrial | 300kW Generator |
| 600kW | Industrial facilities, larger sites | 600kW Generator |
| 1500kW | Large industrial and utility-scale needs | 1500kW Generator |
| Factor | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Connected load | Sets the baseline kW the unit must sustain |
| Startup/inrush demand | Motors and pumps can require several times their running load at startup |
| Voltage & phase | Must match the site’s electrical service |
| Run time needed | Determines fuel tank size and refueling schedule |
| Site access | Affects unit footprint and delivery equipment |
Bay City sits roughly 70 miles from our Dickinson yard via SH-35, a comfortable single-day round trip for our delivery crews rather than a long-haul dispatch. That regional distance means we can turn around emergency requests quickly while still running the same load-bank-tested equipment we send nationwide.
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Generator size (kW) | Larger units cost more to rent and to fuel |
| Rental duration | Longer terms typically lower the daily rate |
| Fuel consumption | Tied to load and tank size |
| Delivery distance | Transportation cost scales with mileage |
| Hookup requirements | Transfer switches and cabling add setup cost |
Bay City’s Gulf-adjacent location means storm exposure is a standing planning factor, not a once-a-year concern. Our hurricane contingency power plan covers how we pre-position diesel generators ahead of forecast storms so Matagorda County facilities aren’t waiting on power after landfall.
